Dodgeball Club
This week marked the second session of our Dodgeball Club for years 3-5. To begin the club, three team captains were chosen and the children were split into three teams of six. The children then played in a number of dodgeball matches with the aim of eliminating every member on the opposing team. We introduced several variations of the game which the children picked up extremely quickly. Here are just a few of those rule changes:
Boulder Ball- a bonus ball given to anybody who rolled the boulder (exercise ball) into an opposing player.
Bonus ball- A successful throw to an eliminated teammate with the starred ball resulted in a bonus point being given
Hoop- A ball thrown into the hoop on the other side of the hall would result in the entire team rejoining the game.
Jedi – A nominated player had the power to resurrect a fallen teammate
I have to say, the children were fantastic! They listened to the instructions and the quality of the matches just got better and better the more we played. We will continue with Dodgeball club after Easter as next week is parents week. Well done, everybody!
