Don’t – Performed by Year 5
This half term, we have been developing our ability to performance poetry. This half term we have been focusing on the poem ‘Don’t’ by Mr. Michael Rosen. This poem is memorable, humorous and definitely captured the imaginations of the children. It has been a BLAST learning this poem and it made me have flashbacks to when the class were performing Romeo and Juliet on the Pavilion stage last academic year. I have to say, this class always give it 100% and I am very proud of their efforts. They even began reciting the poem on the coach up to Bristol last week!
Next half term, we will be looking at and learning a brand new poem in order to develop the children’s confidence, intonation, volume and ability to perform. I wonder what the poem will be…
