As scientists we have been exploring materials. We have been naming different everyday materials and exploring the properties that make different materials suitable for different uses. Last week we explored how some materials can be changed by bending, squashing, pulling and twisting. This week we have explored suitable materials for building roads and learned about John MacAdam.
On Thursday 17th October we are looking forward to hearing from a visitor from the Dorset Waste Partnership to talk to us about the three R,s – reducing, reusing and recycling our waste. For the following week please can children bring lots of clean plastic and cardboard items from your recycling at home for a small project in class. We would particularly like small plastic bottles, plastic bottle tops, yogurt pots, card board boxes, etc. Many thanks.
