This week, Mrs Jones and I have been so impressed with the children during their phonics sessions. They are all trying very hard to learn their new sounds and apply them in their independent writing. Today, the children were asked to write the sentence ‘Pop the puppet in my pocket’ on their white boards. They are so good at sounding out the words, then using their sound mats to help them write them. I know we don’t often do blogs about phonics as it is an everyday occurrence in the classroom, but we felt that the super effort and progress we are seeing deserved a special mention this week. Well done year 1!
