Fire Safety visit

On Friday we had a visit from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. Year 1 and Year 2 went into the hall together for a great talk and lots of learning about how to keep safe, in regards to fire.

The children enjoyed learning through a story called ‘No Dragons for Tea’ and some of the Year 2’s were given acting rolls to bring the story to life.

The children asked some great questions and all listened brilliantly for the whole duration.

They were given the homework of asking their grown ups three questions;

1) Where is our smoke detector and has it been checked?

2) What is our escape plan in case there is a fire?

3) Where is our safe place to meet in case there is a fire?

Hopefully some grown-ups have been quizzed as a result of the visit!…

Well done to both classes for showing such an interest and being fully engaged for the whole session.
