The forecast was miserable but that didn’t stop us having so much fun at Forest School. We learnt how to play the wide game ‘Capture the flag’. One of our Forest Schoolers took charge in organising us by explaining the rules of this game. We had a go at setting it up in the hall before heading out into the mud.
The game itself is very strategic; everyone must work as a team and take on roles. As we played the game over the afternoon, strategies changed and the teams became very even. It was vital to communicate well and work together to try and capture the flags (tennis balls), which were guarded by the other team. If we were caught, we needed to go to ‘prison’ before we were reliant on a team member to release us. At the same time, the opposing team was trying to capture our flags! There was a lot going on!
We played three great games and enjoyed every minute. As always, some of us ended up muddier than others!
It looks like you had A LOT of fun! There was certainly a lot of mud in the bag of clothes I was handed haha! Thank you Mrs Butler and Mrs Matthews for giving our children these opportunities each week
