We have been so busy the last couple of weeks at Forest School. From clay faces on trees, to whittling and also lots of tool work and working creatively with out own ideas. Elder branches have been hollowed out, flags have been decorated and branches sawn. We have also been experimenting with food preparation including foraging wild garlic to make butter, making dough for damper bread, mixing scotch pancakes, frying seeds in soy sauce and drinking hot chocolate. We also gave a feast to the local birds of seeds, mealworms and fat balls.
We have had time by ourselves in nature too. Just sitting quietly and using our senses to be aware and present. We all really enjoyed this ‘me time’ and connecting with nature.
We can’t believe that the last session is upon us this week. It’s flown by way too quickly.
