Year 4 have been working so hard at their current maths unit on fractions. Over the last few weeks, the children have been exploring counting beyond the whole, comparing and ordering mixed numbers, understanding improper fractions, converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers, equivalent fractions, and adding and subtracting fractions! Wowee! What a huge range of skills, on a tricky topic. Recently the class have been really enjoying working independently, as Laura has been setting them lots of challenge slips to work through in each lesson, so once they’ve done their workbook there is always something to stretch their learning. A big shout-out to Gracie A who has been determinedly writing equations with her left hand due to an injury!
