On Monday Mrs Vera Clark and Mr Ken Smith visited Year 6 to explain to the children first hand what it was like to be evacuated from London during the Blitz. In addition to exciting tales of outside toilets, tin baths and doodle bugs, our honoured guests brought carefully preserved ration books, identity cards and a range of strange coins with them. The children listened really well and asked some excellent questions before joining in enthusiastically when Mrs Clark led an impromptu rendition of ‘Run Rabbit, Run’.
