Geologists and compasses

The children all slept really well last night and had a little lie in until 7:30 (thank goodness!). We then packed up our suitcases, cleaned and hoovered our rooms and headed down to breakfast where we were treated to pancakes and bacon – delish!

Wellie booted and waterproofed, we headed to our first activity of the morning which was being geologists. Here, the children learnt about different types of rocks and fossils, examining them to identify and categorise them.

We then built on our orienteering experience from yesterday, this time using map symbols instead of letters.

We’re currently having lunch and getting ourselves ready for the bus journey home. Everyone has had a brilliant time and we are very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm to take part in all the activities.

Well done Year Three, you have been a fantastic group to bring away!

Love from all your (extremely tired!) teachers!
