Happy Easter from Caroline 🐤

Welcome to my final weekly update for the spring term. It seems impossible that we are two thirds of the way through the year already! I’m sure Headteachers all over the country are writing to their families about the wonderful things their children have been learning but I bet none are genuinely as proud as I am 🤩

Everyone has been working hard and we have some really amazing achievements to be proud of. Over the past twelve school weeks, the children have taken part in the National Reading Championships, won writing competitions, performed live on stage at Weymouth Pavilion, dressed up as a book character in Book Week, participated in a plethora of sporting fixtures and competitions, danced at the disco, enjoyed yummy treats from the Tuck Shop and Bake Sale, broken the rules, had crazy hair to raise money for Comic Relief and put on the most awesome display of talent! What a truly awesome bunch of young people they really are!

They’ve also had some incredible extra curricular learning experiences this term:

  • Reception Class made gingerbread men at the Museum of East Dorset in Wimborne
  • Year 1 had an adventure at Corfe Castle and learned all about castles in the past
  • Year 2 explored Lyme Regis to find out about Mary Anning
  • Year 3 had a visit from Neil the Time Traveller to help them find out about life in Ancient Egypt
  • Year 4 went to London for 3 whole days! They saw Disney’s Lion King show and visited Shakespeare’s Globe, Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral
  • Year 5 found out all about life in ancient Greece on their Greek Day
  • Year 6 learned about World War Two when they visited the Tank Museum

Somehow they have found time to make exceptional progress in reading, writing, maths and the foundation curriculum subjects as well! All in all, it has been a brilliant and fun-packed term.

I hope you found the mid-year reports helpful and have been able to book an appointment to discuss it with your child’s class teacher after Easter.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter break, enjoy the sunshine and some family time and I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 23 April.

Caroline 🐣🌷
