Staffing for next year

I am pleased to confirm the class teachers for next year are as follows:

Reception:     Mrs Puddick

Year 1:            Miss Curtis

Year 2:            Mrs Murray (Mon-Wed) and Mrs Clark (Thur-Fri)

Year 3:            Mr Price (Mon-Thur) and Mrs Wood (Fri)

Year 4:            Mr Prior

Year 5:            Mrs Butler (Mon-Tue) and Mrs Hill (Wed-Fri)

Year 6:            Miss Savage (Miss Savage is new to the school and joins us from St Osmunds Middle School in Dorchester. She is recommended to us as an excellent teacher with lots of experience of working with older KS2 children and, as someone who knows what’s expected of children in Year 7, she’s the ideal Year 6 teacher! We are really looking forward to Miss Savage joining our team in September.)

Wedding plans

Mr Prior is getting married next week. I am sure you will join with me in wishing Mr Prior and his partner every happiness for their big day and their future together.

What to do if someone in your family tests positive for covid during half term

If pupils test positive for COVID-19 during half-term, having developed symptoms more than 2 days since being in school, no action is needed. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace. However, where pupils test positive having developed symptoms within 2 days of being in school, ie have symptoms on Saturday or Sunday, you are asked to notify me straightaway please. This is so I can help to identify close contacts and advise others of the need to self-isolate. Please email me as soon as the result is known on p.mason@southill.dorset.sch.uk.
