Hockey Skills Day

 Hockey Skills Day

Today, ten Year 6 pupils were selected to represent Southill Primary at a hockey skills festival. The aim of the day was to enhance the children’s hockey knowledge and skills while providing an opportunity to integrate and socialise with pupils from other schools.

After some energetic warm-ups, the children joined mixed groups with pupils from various primary and middle schools. Together, they honed their skills in dribbling, passing, shooting, intercepting, and finding space on the pitch.

In the afternoon, the children put their newly developed hockey skills to the test in competitive games as part of their mixed teams. It was fantastic to see their teamwork and adaptability shining through, making them valuable assets to their teams. The hockey coaches were certainly impressed by their enthusiasm and skill!

A huge thank you to Vicki Potts and Colin Ashworth for helping transport the children to Redlands this morning. Thanks also to the Year 6 pupils who represented Southill Primary with outstanding sportsmanship and behavior. Finally, a massive thank you to Weymouth Hockey Club for organizing such an enjoyable and well-run event. The children had an incredible time!
