Our writing unit at the moment is focusing on information texts. We began this unit by learning about Monkeys, following on from our trip to Monkey World.

We learnt how to split our writing into subheadings and introduced new vocabulary such as ‘appearance’, ‘habitat’ and ‘diet’.
We then turned our attention to lions. Keeping the structure of the text the same, we changed the facts to suit our new animal.

As you can see, the children are really proud of their work and have been trying super hard with their hand writing!

We thought this brilliant effort deserved to be celebrated! Well done Year 1! You are becoming fantastic writers!
