Introducing Stormbreak!
This week. Year 6 have started participating in a wide range of ‘Stormbreak’ activities.
In case you are wondering, Stormbreak is a new programme we have introduced across the school at school which aims to help support children’s mental and physical health. We aim to try and develop: resilience, Self Care, Relationships, Hope and Optimism along with Self Worth.
Here’s what we have done so far…
Classroom Cross-Country- VERY FUN! We’ve participated in a Beach run, following actions called out by the Stormbreak instructor such as jumping over waves and waving your hands towards the ice-cream truck. Some children have even come up with their own cross-country suggestions!
Moon and Stars- A relaxing activity which involve the children getting into a comfortable position and listen to both calming music and a poem. We then discussed how it made us feel.
Mood Shift- A fun way of exploring emotions through facial expressions. Who would have thought that one of the best ways to raise your mood when you’re feeling low is to just pull funny faces!
Thanks for such a great week 🙂
I love doing theese activities
