Year 4 have had an amazing first day on their London residential.
We started the day bright and early, all gathering eagerly at 7.30 am for our departure time of 7.45. After waving their families goodbye, the class settled well into the coach journey; Steve, our driver, said they were the best behaved school group he’d had in years! After stopping at Fleet services for a snack and a run around, we drove into Central London, soaking up all the famous sights along the way. We went through Knightsbridge and saw all the famous museums as well as Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace from the coach. Once we had parked in Soho we ate lunch in a nearby park by the river, then it was finally time for the Lion King!
The show was absolutely spectacular, with incredible singing, acting, dancing, puppetry and scenery. It was very inspiring, especially as the class have their own big production coming up! We were treated to ice cream during the interval too… yum. It was well worth going to this show, we were all totally mesmerised by it.
We then went to the hostel and the children finally got to go into their room shares… they’d been asking us ALL day! They unpacked and relaxed in their rooms for a while, and after a little while it was time for dinner. The hostel is great; it’s clean, spacious and safe. Everyone seems to have settled in nicely, and as I write this they are (hopefully) beginning to nod off.
So lovely to see year 4 all had a fab first day. I hope you all slept well and are ready for another action packed day today.
