Lyme Regis and World Book Day

We have had a really busy week in Year 2! On Tuesday we headed off to Lyme Regis to find out more about Mary Anning. We visited her statue and her grave with Kieran from the Lyme Regis Museum. Kieran is a paleontologist and was able to pass on lots of his knowledge to the children. Everyone got the chance to polish a fossil to take home and we all had a fantastic day.

On Thursday it was World Book Day. There were lots of brilliant costume worn and it was lovely to hear the children talking about their favourite books and characters. In the afternoon we all designed our own book front cover and wrote a brief ‘blurb’ on the back. Some children carried this on at home and then bought some brilliant books in on Friday. It’s so lovely to see such enthusiastic learning!
