This week Year 5 have completed their Sow, Grow and Farm topic with an Innovation Journal task to plan and prepare for starting their own Market Gardener business!
Drawing on all of the knowledge from this past term, they had to map out the location, plan the produce and when to plant it, decide on farming techniques, design packaging for their products and think about what wouldn’t grow and why. We have also planted out our fledgling beans, beetroots, onions and spinach into our own allotments, ready for harvesting next term!
We are so proud of Year 5 and their learning during this topic. Not only have they shown a good aptitude for seasonal and climatic farming, they have also shown great thoughtfulness when covering our more social topics such as Fair Trade and supporting local farmers.
Well done Year 5! Have a wonderful rest this week!
Remember to stay safe and read, read, READ! And quiz!
