Marvellous micro habitats!

In our science learning, we are focusing on habitats from around the world. This week, we went out into our school grounds to explore the many micro habitats we have.

We looked under rocks and logs, in trees, under flower pots, and on the floor of the nature trail.

We used our scientific learning to observe mini-beasts in these micro habitats carefully and recorded our findings in small groups.

When we were in our school garden, we even found a lovely big frog!

By far the best micro habitat that we found was an entire anthill under a large plant pot. It was amazing to see all the structures and tunnels which they had built. Such busy creatures!
