Maths Orienteering

Today, we combined two of my favourite subjects together…Maths and PE! The children buddied up and were given a clipboard containing a map of the school and a piece of paper to solve a broad range of mathematical problems. Each pair were given a number to find and at that location, a maths problem awaited them. Once they had solved the problem, they needed to dart back to Mrs. Aitken and I to check if they were correct. Exercise and maths problems…What could possibly be better!?

It was extremely fun and it was fantastic seeing the children working reciprocally in order to solve mathematical problems. A special mention to Filip and Maxwell who completed all 20 questions! A truly staggering achievement considering the slightly cold conditions!
