We have really enjoyed exploring our story this week – Mr Gumpy’s Outing by John Burningham.

Here are some of the characters from the story.

We used a map to help us remember the story and then used it to act out the outing using stick puppets and toys from around the classroom. Here is the map – can you ask your child to tell you the story?

In the classroom we have explored the story through small world play, art, outdoor learning, water play, writing and so much more!

As mathematicians, we were learning how to play games together, using a ten frame and small counters.

Here we are having fun together.
