This afternoon, 7 pupils from Year Six represented Southill in the National Reading Championship Quiz. The two teams competed against 28 other schools (including many secondary schools) to answer a range of challenging questions all about books.
The pupils worked through 8 rounds of varying questions which tested their knowledge of plot, characters, authors, illustrators and classic stories including Shakespeare! Both teams demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and showed excellent teamwork across the afternoon and we were over the moon to hear that Southill had placed first out of all of the primary schools taking part, which is an incredible achievement.
We are very proud of these children – they worked so hard all afternoon and represented Southill admirably.
Well done!
