This morning, 4 pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 represented Southill in the National Reading Championship Quiz. The team competed against 26 other schools (the majority of which were secondary school) to answer a range of challenging questions all about books.
The team had to work through 8 rounds of varying questions which involved videos, anagrams, matching blurbs to book titles and much more! They were also tested on their knowledge of plot, characters, authors, illustrators, knowledge of former Children’s Laureates and secondary school texts such as Of Mice and Men! The team showed fantastic teamwork across the morning and tackled the challenging questions with resilience and determination.
We are so extremely proud of these children. Their knowledge of books was impressive and they represented Southill admirably.
Well done!
