Year 5 had the great pleasure of being invited to join some local schools and take part in an orienteering festival at Wey Valley School yesterday.
We set off, keen for adventure and fun and found just that! The children participated enthusiastically and really threw themselves into the challenge (literally in some muddy cases!)
Once we had had our welcome chat and instructions and our leaders had shown us our maps and tasks, we collected our fobs and were off. The children raced, ran and rambled through challenges to locate and buzz the numbers on the course. Determination was the key today and the children did not stop, never gave up and continued at full pace for 80 minutes!
The winning team was Harley, Cody and Alfie, completing the most number of challenges in the shortest time, great work boys, well done!
Special thanks go to Ms. Charles and Mr Collins for joining and supporting us on this chilly venture, thank you.
