To round off our art project ‘Distortion and Abstraction’, Year 6 had a go at creating their artwork, inspired by the art movement, Orphism. Before we got started, we explored the work of Robert Delaunay and Sonia Delaunay. We identified the key features of art from the movement, these included:
- bright colours
- contrasting colours
- circular shapes
- repetitive patterns
Using oil pastels, we then created our own versions of Orphism art. Well done Year 6 – they look great!
Here are just a few photos of our work-in-progress or finished pieces!
