Perfecting Perimeter

Perfecting Perimeter

After learning all about area earlier in the academic year, Year 4 were tasked today with calculating the perimeter of shapes. We soon noticed another word within perimeter which helped us understand what it meant…PeRIMeter.

After understanding what calculating the perimeter of a shape involved, children were asked to draw shapes with a specific perimeter and also calculate the perimeter of given shapes accurately. Some children even wrote a ‘TOP TIP’ list on how to calculate the perimeter of a shape.

A great lesson and we were very impressed with the accuracy of the children’s measuring and drawing.
