Our very own Southill Primary POP Stars had the exceptional privilege of opening the Dorset Education Conference held at Weymouth College this week, a very memorable experience enjoyed by all! The theme of the day was ‘One of a Kind’, celebrating the uniqueness of every child and young person in Dorset and was attended by leaders in education from all across our county, including youth representatives, guest speakers and authors who had travelled especially to attend.

Our POP Stars were all incredible and took to the stage like true professionals; performing two songs with big smiles and plenty of enthusiasm, resulting in a three-minute applause with standing ovation from the entire room!  It was a very profound and joyful moment for them all, we couldn’t be prouder!  Accompanied by our very own Dan Bell on guitar, they sang a cover of Pink’s Cover Me in Sunshine and also a very special song written and composed with Dan entitled ‘Just Be You’ – which will also be performed at Chesil Youth Pride this Saturday. Young people from local schools and surrounding areas have also admired the lyrics (bel0w) and will also enjoy the chance to sing along.

Southill Primary POP Stars – you smashed it and were definitely a hard act to follow!  Great work everyone.
