Today we had a real treat in Year 5, an opportunity to write creatively and freely from our own imagination!  We love writing at Southill and it is always great when we have a chance to use our own ideas to interest our readers through our fabulous writing skills.

This morning we had a chance to complete some cross-curricular writing, this involved writing on the theme of our current topic.  As our current topic is Dynamic Dynasties, we were really pleased to write a story based in Ancient China.  We thought of a main character who somehow transported through a portal to Ancient China, needed to solve a problem then find a way home again, phew!

I am so pleased with the level of enthusiasm Year 5 put into their writing this morning!  It was great to see them all use the amazing vocabulary and suspense tools we have been learning about in our English lessons and really threw all their creative ideas into writing some great stories, well done everyone!
