Each week we are enjoying a story in our special assembly dedicated to Reading for Pleasure. This week Mr Price read Here Comes Frankie – a funny and uplifting story about family, noise and colour. Frankie decides to learn to play the trumpet – and Mr Price played the trumpet in assembly too. We learned that the character in the story cannot just hear sounds, but can smell and see them too. This real life condition is called synaesthesia and Mr Price taught us the the famous jazz musician Miles Davis also had synaesthesia. We listened to some music by Miles Davis. The assembly was a real treat for the senses! Thank you Mr Price.
