This week we concluded our fascinating topic “Stone Age to Iron Age” with the building of miniature roundhouses. The children collected sticks from outside during morning break and then after lunch they watched a short video giving guidance on how to build a sturdy roundhouse. They worked brilliantly on taking small amounts of clay and gradually building up the walls, leaving a space for the entrance and then adding the sticks for the roof and to strengthen the walls. We had such fun making them and helping each other to fix things when they went wrong and to problem solve how to make them better . They shall be ready to come home after the half term break!
It has been a great start to year 3 and I look forward to seeing you all again soon, but in the meantime have a safe, happy well earned break.
