This afternoon, children were tasked with arranging a variety of sea creatures into groups.

“What were the groups?” I hear you ask. Well, that was down to them. We discussed possible ways of sorting and grouping the creatures and the children than had a go at doing it. Here are just some of the ways in which the creatures were grouped…

Diet (carnivore, herbivore or omnivore)

Consumer or producer

Colour

Size

Habitat

Ocean (Atlantic, Pacific, Indian etc.)

Adaptations

It’s great seeing children organise themselves and the best possible way of sorting the creatures quickly and efficiently.
