Southill 50 Celebrations

This week, as part of our 🎈Southill 50 celebrations marking 50 glorious years of our school, classes have enjoyed a variety of very exciting activities including an outdoor climbing wall (courtesy of Adventure 4 All), planting seeds and fitness 50 workshops.  We concluded our week in style on Friday by sharing a tea party with all the ingredients of a really special occasion including plenty of cake, music, sunshine, handmade bunting and a Southill scavenger hunt around our school grounds – we all had such a great time together.

Our week ended with an extremely special School Reunion where we welcomed so many ex pupils, teachers (the legendary Mrs Boyce and Mrs Ayles to name just a few!), families and members of our community.  Our school governors had worked hard to create photo displays with several albums to browse including newspaper cuttings, magazines and class photos.  We also enjoyed a photo presentation with a selection of memory quotations, a Year 6 leaver video playlist and a speech from Mr Mason, with cutting of a Southill 50 cake to conclude.

🙏 We’d like to give our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated governors for organising our tea party and reunion, to so many past pupils for submitting their photos and memories and to all those who came back to visit us, it was really great to see you.  It’s a very special feeling to know just how cherished Southill Primary is to so many, near and far.  You’ll always be part of our school community, please do keep in touch!

Here’s to the next 50 years …
