Another beautiful day dawned here in St Ives but none of the children saw it as they snoozed on and on until nearly 8.00! I think we must have worn them out!!
Still, eventually we got up and after a lovely breakfast we headed off to catch the bus to Hayle where we had a short walk to Paradise Park. It really was paradise today in the beautiful Cornish sunshine. We saw red pandas, macaws, penguins, owls, goats, sheep, eagles and a whole lot more. We also spent a couple of hours in the Jungle Barn sliding down the super slippery slides.
On the way back we were very lucky to enjoy a ride on an open top bus so we were able to enjoy the fantastic scenery and a lovely cool breeze.
Dinner was a tasty curry and then we headed off down the beach for games. As I write, Mr Mason is conducting his famous ‘last night of a residential’ quiz – were you paying attention? while the children enjoy their hot chocolate.
It really has been a magical trip. The children have been a joy to spend time with and we are all feeling proud of them and what they have achieved this week. What a fantastic way to end their time in Year 6 and Southill Primary.
