The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse
In Stormbreak this week, we have focused on relationships. We started by completing the Hummingbird activity earlier in the week which concentrated on our breathing and working with our classmates in order to create movements to match the sounds produced. As a special treat (as we were the ‘Wellbeing Reporters’ this week) the children watched one of my all time favourite animated stories…’The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse’. This incredible story has so much depth and the children had to think about the following questions whilst watching:
•How do the characters in the book show kindness to each other?
•Can you think of a time when you were kind to a friend? How did it make you feel?
•In what ways are the characters similar to each other? How are they different?
•What has this video got to do with relationships?
After watching the video and linking it to relationships, lots of the children were DESPERATE to read the book! The illustrations and quotes from the story really did teach the children about how relationships are made, formed and developed.
In case you would like to watch this incredible animated story again, it’s available on BBC iPlayer – The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse
