Surviving The Blitz

Over the last two afternoons, Year 6 have been working hard to find out exactly what measures were taken to reduce the effects of bombing and what people had to do to survive the Blitz. Year 6 conducted their research using books and reliable sources on the internet and found a range of different ways that people tried to stay safe during the Blitz. These included: Anderson shelters, Morrison shelters, blackout blinds, responding to air raid sirens and the use of  communal shelters. We also found a range of interesting facts about life in the Blitz. For example, it was a legal requirement to have blackout blinds in your windows, and that a Morrison shelter could hold up to 4 members of the family!

Year 6 then used their ICT skills to present their information in a PowerPoint Presentation. They have worked hard to ensure their information was accurate and clear, and that their slides were eye-catching. I am looking forward to seeing the finished work on Thursday.

Well done Year 6!
