The rain and wind didn’t stop Year 6 from getting stuck into their tag rugby lesson this week! We spent some time recapping our learning from last week – the best way to hold the ball, how to pass in rugby and how to be ready to receive the ball/.
We then focused on ensuring our passing was accurate by passing to a partner through a hoop! If we completed two successful passes, we took a step back to then try passing across a further distance. I was very impressed with the progress that was made by all the pupils in this activity!
Next, we moved on to introducing tags. We recapped our learning from last year by explaining that a player must pass the ball to a teammate if they are tagged by the opposing side. We then played a game where the aim was to get past a player, without being tagged, in order to reach the other side. I was so impressed with the class’ resilience and reciprocity during the session – well done Year 6!
Great action shots of Josie!
Thank you 😊
Amazing rugby play everyone, well done!
