This week in English, Year 6 have been working hard to plan and write their own Tales of Fear.

These stories have been based on our model text Fowler’s Yard which follows the story of a boy named Omar who discovers a scrapyard infested with mechanical rats! The children used this story to create their own versions in their own eerie setting.

Our stories included… mechanical parrots, pythons, panthers, colonies of bats and fearsome bears!

The class worked incredibly hard to include a range of devices which builds suspense and create detailed descriptions for the reader.
