After learning our new model text, Hansel and Gretel, this week, we focused on writing adverbials to add detail to our writing. An adverbial is a phrase which explains how, when or where an action has taken place and it can be tricky to make sure an adverbial is included correctly in our writing so Year 5 have had to stay focused this week!

Each day, we have looked at a different way of explaining the verb within our sentences and our creativity and imagination has really taken off! We started by explaining when the action took place then moved onto where the action occurred. Today we included how an action was carried out.

I am sure you will agree that Year 5 have worked hard to develop their vocabulary and sentence structure this week and have continued to work diligently on their handwriting, well done everyone!
