The Cobbler and the Dragon
Well we certainly have some storytellers in Year Three. We’ve only just clapped eyes on this story and the children already know it!
The idea of learning a story is to help them write their very own ‘Defeat the Baddie’ tale in the future. Through learning a story, they develop more of an understanding of:
-How to structure the text
-Impressive vocabulary they can use
-Interesting sentence openers
-New punctuation to try
It’s also great for their pronunciation and ability to perform a story.
