We are GOLD!

The School Games Mark is a Government-led awards scheme (launched back in 2012) to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.  Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.

I am absolutely delighted to announce that Southill Primary School was today awarded the GOLD School Games mark! This is an outstanding achievement and we are extremely proud of the combined efforts of staff, children, parents and the wider Southill community.

Our local SGO (School Games Organiser) stated that Southill provided…‘fantastic support to engage all children with physical activity at this school. So much being implemented and great passion displayed by the staff. A clear understanding of the importance of inclusive physical activity for all pupils.’ 

Clubs, competitions, sports festivals, Fitness Thursday, FRidedays, Bronze Ambassadors, outdoor adventurous activities on residentials and school trips, sponsorship events and fundraising, The Daily Mile, Sports Week, Stormbreak, Healthy Selfies and our use of Sports Premium Expenditure in order to provided specialist equipment and excellent opportunities for our pupils were recognised. Not to mention our commitment to delivering a cracking PE curriculum!

Well done, everybody! What fantastic news to conclude our epic year of Southill sporting achievements.
