Here in Year 5 we have been thoroughly enjoying our visits to Alchemy Island and yesterday was no exception. We stopped to rest a while on our way to Dragon Vine Towers and happened upon the Fountain of Gold. Not content with merely seeing it, we wanted to explore it and find out how it worked, so we made it!
A few sprinkles of gold, a dash of hydrogen peroxide and some magic spoonfuls of yeast later, we had our very own Fountain of Gold!
The amazement and excitement in the class was just wonderful to see and hear, what a fabulous experience for all!
Today’s foray into the world of materials on Alchemy Island involved filtration and evaporation to separate solids from a liquid. Phew, Year 5, what amazing science! Well done!
