This week we read the story of ‘The Leaf Thief’. In this story a squirrel worries that someone is stealing his leaves. His friend, bird, helps him to realise that this happens every autumn and it is the wind that blows his leaves off the tree.
We have had fun outside collecting leaves and using our nature collectors. We even had a leaf cafe one day! Inside we used conkers in paint to create ‘conker rolling’ art.
We also read a book called ‘The Button Box’ to give us ideas for sorting.
What a busy week we have had! Well done everyone.
We’ve heard all about the leaf thief this evening at tea time & his circle shaped box for collecting sticks and leaves. Looks loads of fun, Ostin is a huge fan of all things outdoors, so it’s been non stop chatting. Thank you !
George has really enjoyed telling us all about the story ‘The Leaf Thief’ especially when the squirrel thinks the grass has been stolen. This amused him greatly! He’s had fun counting leaves and making his own number line. And we’ve loved sharing his very first school reading book. Thanks for inspiring him Mrs Puddick and Mrs Kench.
