Who ever heard of a talking papaya?

Last Friday we opened our story sack to reveal a crown, a farmer’s cap and a talking papaya.  Who could the characters be in our new story?  Meet the king, a farmer and a talking papaya.

This week we have worked really hard learning our new story and are proud to present it to you today.  Have a listen – we love it – can you hear our enthusiasm and expression?  On Monday we will be writing this story using the story map so please try really hard at the weekend to practise this story so that you know it well enough to write it on Monday.

In other news, we celebrated our first ‘hand writing heroes’ and presented our Handwriting Hero of the Week with a prize from our new prize box.  We are all working really hard on the presentation of our work and trying to make our handwriting as neat as possible.  All letter sitting on the line, even in size with tall ascenders and tails under the line.  We are really looking forward to awarding more handwriting hero certificates and picking another winner of the week soon.
