Twelfth Night at the Pavilion!

“If music be the food of love, play on!
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, the appetite may sicken and so die.”

What an INCREDIBLE performance, year 4! For 6 weeks you have been committed, enthusiastic, reciprocal and resilient, and it was all worth it. Every single pupil in the class was an integral part of the play as, in Southill style, we made sure everyone was on stage all the time. Our performers with solo lines dazzled the audience with their bold, clear, confident and often hilarious performances. But it would have been nothing without our narration team, who all put so much effort and enthusiasm into their role – acting out the narration with wit and clarity.

It’s amazing to think back to the first week after Christmas, when the class didn’t even know the plot of the play. It’s been so great seeing the class take on the task and take ownership of the production to the point where they were able to run it independently. Over the weeks all of the pupils had added their own personality to their characters, resulting in a show which was really unique to them.

The costumes really brought the show to life, so we’d like to give a huge thank you to all the parents for putting in such a big effort to make everything look dazzlingly ’80s. Also, thank you Sue for all of your hard work on the amazing props! Included in this post are some excellent photos taken by Kevin Frampton – thank you.

These big projects are always a team effort, so thank you to everyone who was involved.

Well done, year 4!

Dan and Matt

What a performance Year 4, I am so proud of Ostin but also each and every single one of the children that I’ve got to know over the years from working at the school, or knowing because they’re Ostins friends. You were all incredible !! Each and every one of you shone on that stage, the smiles on your faces made everyone’s day. The performance was outstanding, but seeing how happy our children were on that stage was amazing! A huge huge thank you to the teaching staff, lesson plans, teaching, curriculum preparation , dealing with friendships etc etc is hard enough let alone putting on a full blown performance! How lucky are we as parents and how lucky are our children. Memories they will not forget , no matter what their role was last night, they sang , acted and danced their little bottoms off. Amazing Mighty SPS! Year 4 smashed it! Thank you Matt & Dan very grateful !! 🙌🏼. Also Mr Frampton who still shows up to take the best pictures!! 📸 THANK YOU!

Well done Year 4 – you did amazingly! It was such an outstanding performance and so engaging, you had everyone in the audience laughing along with you and in awe of your talent!

Well done to all the staff too, for putting so much time into producing such a fantastic show from start to finish. Looking forward to what show you will put on next year, when it’s Chloe’s turn!
