KINDNESS is at the heart of all we do here at Southill Primary – thinking of others, having patience and understanding as well as being a good listener are all very good examples of being kind. It’s also part of being a 2%er, which of course we all know so very much about! However, it can sometimes be more of a challenge to act with kindness especially when times get tough. Therefore it’s really important to keep spreading the message and to help others to be more kind.
This Friday 13th November is World Kindness Day, an excellent opportunity to celebrate all that we do and also to help promote kindness throughout our school and within our school community. We’ll have lots of fun this week doing just that, we’ll be looking out for random acts of kindness and will celebrate them with special postcards – some of which will be read within our assemblies before coming home. We’d also like to challenge the children to spread a smile, if you see someone without a smile, why not give them one of yours?
Very excitingly, Mrs Clark has read and recorded a lovely story called Kind: a book about Kindness for us all to share. We just love the important messages within this book, it also contains pictures from 38 kind illustrators including Axel Scheffler. This book is also one of our latest KS2 BOOKFLIX additions! We hope that you can all enjoy the story too:
Let’s all enjoy celebrating kindness this week 💙
