What a fantastic first week we have had in Year 5! Our Stormbreak focus this week was resilience and we can definitely say we have demonstrated resilience as a class all week. It is not always easy to settle into a new class with new routines and expectations, yet this week Year 5 have smashed it! Great listening, great efforts and brilliant learning as a result.
Our main focus was our Jigsaw Unit – Being Me in My World. This gave us the opportunity to Shout It Out about our wonders, likes, dislikes and strengths. We also had the chance to discuss our Rights and Responsibilities and how we can help each other learn in class when we follow them. Working reciprocally, we have drawn up our Class Charter which we feel will help Year 5 achieve our best at all times.
We have also started out Tints, Tones and Shades art unit and have really enjoyed mixing paint to create different variations of colour. Have a look at how focused we have been and how well we have shaded, tinted and toned our chosen colours, well done everyone!
Add in some Roman Numerals in maths, a time capsule letter, some guitar playing in music and some orienteering and I think you’ll agree, it has been a full-packed first week back! Have a lovely weekend everyone and see you for more next week!
