We’ve had a busy time settling into Year 6 over the last few days. So far we have settled back into routines and learning, and spent some time getting to know a little bit more about each other.

The children have created a fact file about themselves to help me get to know them even better, created bookmarks for their new reading books, and even learnt about what it was like to be an evacuee in World War Two. It has been great to see some of the fantastic home learning that the children have worked on over the summer. We spent some time sharing their projects and learning new facts about our new topic – A Child’s War.

We’ve also made a great start reading our class novel ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ and already started to make links between the storyline and our WW2 learning.

A fantastic start to the week in Year 6 – let’s do it again tomorrow!
