Well well well what do we have here…
At Southill, we are always looking for ways to improve our learning environment. After years of planning and preparation, we are delighted to finally reveal that we have invested in some permanent goals and basketball hoops for the school playground. In the past, we have toyed with the idea of using plastic goals and prop-up hoops, however due to the weather and general wear and tear of children using them, they just didn’t last. Now however, concreted into the ground, we have two basketgoal painted in the Southill colours.
This afternoon, after the goals were finally finished, I grabbed a few children from Year 6 to try them out today and they LOVED them! They really are perfect and I know they will help children be more physically active and bring joy to so many pupils (and teachers) across the school.
I cannot wait for them to be utilized at playtimes, lunchtimes and they will almost certainly feature in Key Stage Two Physical Education lessons.
Enjoy…

Amazing! There’s been much excitement about these in our house. These are much needed in windy Southill!
