To kickstart learning our exciting new ‘Rags to Riches’ tale ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ Year 3 had a go at writing with chocolate….yes chocolate! Once they had written the title to our model text, they even got to sample the delicious chocolate too…..YUM!

Next, Year 3 went back to pen and ink and used dictionaries to find the definitions of new impressive vocabulary from the text. They searched for words such as ‘eccentric’, ‘marvelled’ and ‘bewildered’ before having a go at putting some of the words in to their own sentences to demonstrate their understanding of the new words they had learnt.

What a tasty and tremendous way to start the week – nice work, Year 3 🙂 !
