Y6 Cornwall Residential – Day 3

Another awesome day!

After a hearty Cornish cooked breakfast, we set off for Bodmin Jail. It’s safe to say this was an unforgettable experience for us all. The jail has recently had a multi-million pound renovation to create an immersive experience that really brings history to life. I don’t think any of us were expecting what happened; it was absolutely brilliant. We weren’t allowed to take photos in The Dark Walk so you’ll just have to ask us what happened in there … but beware there are some grim and gruesome tales of Cornwall’s troubled past.

In the afternoon, we visited Screech Owl Sanctuary and Animal Park. We met three types of owl; a barn owl, a tawny owl and an Indian scops owl. Then we had a flying display with a great grey owl, and some of us were lucky enough to hold an eagle owl. We also saw lots of other animals including meerkats, goats and emus.

After our tea, we visited Mevagissey and had an ice cream and a walk around this traditional harbourside village. It was a lovely way to spend our last evening. We’re all quite tired and although we don’t really want it to end we’re looking forward to seeing our families tomorrow.

Wi-Fi issues again this evening … I can only get a few of my photos. I’ll share the rest with you when I can.

See you tomorrow 😊
